The Club and it’s members continue to reap the benefits of our association with the Portsmouth Lottery.
We receive monthly payments from the Lottery (50% of every ticket sold from our page), whilst a number of players and parents from the Club have won tickets. The most recent was last weekend.

Kaiden Southey was the only member of the Club to compete at the recent Northern Home Counties Red & Yellow Belt Rumble, held at the High Wycombe Judo Centre.
Kaiden was one of the smallest and least experienced players to take part.
Whilst he was to finish outside the medals, Kaiden gave a good account of himself, with two good performances.
Players should now be looking to take part in the Hampshire Red & Yellow Belt competition to be held at the end of April.
Entry is now open for the Hampshire Red & Yellow Belt Closed, to be held on 30 April at Fleming Park Leisure Centre.

Please note, this competition is being held AFTER our planned grading dates (we weren’t advised of dates). If any 6th mon players wish to compete, we are happy to grade these players only after the competition.
Action from 2009 Hampshire Open
With a singular lack of fanfare, dates have appeared on the Hampshire Judo website for 2017 competitions.
With the redesign of Fleming Park Leisure Centre and lack of storage for Hampshire’s mats, the hunt is on for a suitable home for forthcoming competitions.
After a short break, adult judo classes will resume tonight, 8 – 9pm.

The weekend saw a Court Lane Judo Club supporter once again win on the Portsmouth Lottery!
Proceeds from the Lottery come direct to the Club and other good causes in the Portsmouth area – why not buy a ticket and see if you can scoop the jackpot?

Dean training in Royan 2016
Dean Smith made his competition debut for the Club, competing at the South Coast Senior Kyu & Dan Open in Worthing on 19 February.
In a very evenly matched group, Dean won one and lost two contests.

We are delighted to announce the appointment of our new Club Welfare Officer.
Karen Miller – mother of Freddie and Wilf – has taken on the role of Welfare Officer for the Club. Karen has already joined the management committee of the Club and will undergo training provided by UKSport and NSPCC to equip her for this role.

Club supporters scored their 3rd and 4th wins on the Portsmouth Lottery at the weekend.
The elusive top prize of over £20,000 has still to be won, but every ticket purchased benefits local community groups – and you can nominate us to receive 50% of the ticket price: that’s 50p from every £1 weekly ticket comes directly to the club.
