Don’t forget, if you want to grade you must have a current valid membership of the British Judo Association (BJA).
For insurance purposes, all players should have some form of BJA insurance.
We are delighted to announce that Rio Olympian, twice World Medallist and Commonwealth Games champion Nekoda Davis will be making a return visit to the club on 30th November.
Nekoda visited us in 2018 to help celebrate the club’s 25th anniversary, and we had a great session with her. This return visit has been organised as part of British Judo’s Paris Roadshow series of events.
Nekoda will be delivering two sessions on the afternoon of 30th November:
The normal £5 mat fee will apply.
Court Lane players may pre-register and pay in advance if they wish.
We hope to be able to open the playground for parking.
In our final session before summer break, Tom McMaster passed his examination for 1st kyu – well done Tom!
Violet Roberts also passed her exam for 3rd sho – congratulations Violet.
All grads have been registered with British Judo.
Remember, if you want to grade you must have a full BJA licence. Who knows, one day you could end up in the Olympics!

All practising players should have a recreational membership as a minimum.

Referees are a vital part of any sport, keeping the action moving, keeping players safe and awarding points and penalties as required.
Undertaking a refereeing course is a great way to learn the rules, that will help you as a competitor, and gives you a chance to give something back to Judo
Kristian Pochev entered the Gladiator judo competition in Bulgaria, coming home with a bronze medal for 3rd place – Congratulations!

Chloe Lymer returned to medal winning form with a bronze medal at the Southern Area Regional Schools on 20 January.
Chloe’s next competitions are the Surrey Kyu Grade Open on 11 February and the English Open in London on 18 February.
