Due to the current inclement (horrible, atrocious…) weather, there will be no outdoor training session tomorrow, Tuesday 25 August.
As school recommences on Tuesday 1 September, there will be no training that night.
Judo will recommence on Thursday 3 September – see you back on the mat!
We are delighted to announce that Fighting Films have selected the Club as the first beneficiary from their involvement with Easyfundraising.
Any purchases that they make via the Easyfundraising portal during August and September 2015 will trigger a donation to the Club.
The Club has a long association with Fighting Films – they have supplied our Club mats, many of our players wear Fighting films judogi and we regularly use Fighting Films DVDs.

We have received the following request, you may be interested in taking part!
My name’s John Sennett and in 4 weeks time at the Southampton Outdoor Sports Centre, working in partnership with Active Nation we’re hosting an audacious bid to set a brand new world record for the ‘most people in a Rounders exhibition match’. I know this isn’t your sport, but wanted to let you know about the event, just incase you had any members etc that would like to take part. It’s only a £2 minimum donation to take part and each participant will receive a world record t-shirt and also a commemorative Rounders bat – with both being able to take home. We have 100 participants slots and we’re half full. If you do have anyone at all who would like to take part, please send me a reply (or pass on my email) and I’ll forward on the registration forms. All participants must be aged 14+ and register before Tuesday 25th August. The event takes place on Sunday 30th August. All money raised will be put towards the set-up of a brand new club/programme in the local area. Alongside the attempt, we have a tombola full of national and local vouchers, and an entertainment line-up to keep all entertained. More information can be found on our social media pages;

Stonehenge
Just a quick reminder that Tony will be undertaking a 26 mile charity trek in September, linking Old Sarum, Salisbury Cathedral and Stonehenge, to raise funds for Alzheimer’s research.
Alzheimer’s Disease is a truly horrendous condition, afflicting many people, not just the elderly (think Sir Terry Pratchett…).

Players about to begin a newaza practice
Training this Tuesday will NOT be affected by the school’s Year 6 farewell party.
We would ask all players arriving by car to park somewhere other than the main playground, as this will be in use. Hopefully there will be room in the staff carpark, although some teachers will still be on site.
Tuesday’s session will feature our famous Bring a parent night, whilst the adult session will be hosting Harry and Emily of Sport Hampshire as part of their 50 Sport Challenge. All older juniors are invited to attend this session.
This will be our final dojo session of the year, however we will be training outdoors at Hilsea Creek as we did last year.
Mat sessions will recommence on Thursday 3 September.

Judo may be coming to a close for the summer – our final session is Tuesday 21 July – but as with last year we will be training over the summer.
Starting from 28 July, we will be meeting every Tuesday at Hilsea Lines, using the open space where Peronne Road crosses the creek to Highbury – see the map for more details. Parking is available either in Peronne Road, Hilsea, or Tudor Crescent, Highbury – just walk over the “Curly Wurly” bridge to join us.
