The format of the upcoming Hampshire squad session (Sunday 13 February) has been tweaked to allow for two sessions:
10.00 – 11.30 Juniors -14 years
12.00 – 13.30 Seniors +14 years
Venue will be Holbrook Judo Club, Gym No 1, Brune Park School, Military Road, Gosport PO12 3BU.
Open to all licenced Judoka. Mat fee £5.00
The first Hampshire junior squad session of 2022 will be hosted by Holbrook Judo Club on 13 February.
The session will be held at Brune Park School, Military Road, Gosport and will run from 1000 – 1200. All licensed judoka are welcome, a £5 mat fee is payable.
Three sessions in to the New Year, and we are delighted to to see everyone back on the mat!
The tatami is as busy as it was at the end of last year – indeed even busier, with new faces joining in on every session! In fact we are so busy that we are seriously considering purchasing more mats to expand our mat area.
We are also looking at expanding our payment options, using a card reader to enable card payment rather than cash, and re-establishing a dedicated adult session. This would enable us to better separate adults and younger players, and let us move some junior members up to the next session.
More news on these developments will follow.

Yes, Christmas is fast approaching… hopefully a more normal one for everyone than last year.
Below are details of our Christmas closure and New Year re-opening dates.
It has been a pleasure to be back on the mats this year, we have trained almost without a pause since the club reopened so enjoy the winter break.
After an impressive turnout for the masterclasses with Gemma Howell, the next Hampshire squad session has been annouced for 7 November.
As usual, the session will be held at Eastleigh Leisure Centre, from 1000 to 1200. A £5 mat fee will apply. The session is open to adults and children aged over 8 who wish to gain extra mat time and improve their judo skills with a wide range of partners.
Don’t forget, two time Olympian Gemma Howell will be running sessions for Hampshire Judo this Sunday!
As well as competing in the London and Tokyo Olympics, Gemma is a European Championships bronze medallist and has taken many medals on the Judo World tour, in Grand Slam and Grand Prix events.
This a great opportunity, not to be missed, and even better it is FREE.
Judo classes will run as normal over the October half term (26th and 28th October).
Many thanks to the school for making staff available to unlock and lock the building for us.

Please note that the recently announced squad session on 3rd October has been cancelled.
This decision has been taken in light of the difficulties people have encountered accessing fuel, and possible knock on impacts on attendance.

Olympian Gemma Howell will be leading TWO sessions for Hampshire Judo on Sunday 24th October.
Sessions will be held at Places Leisure, Eastleigh, with the first session running 0930 – 1100 and the second 1130 – 1300.
These sessions are FREE to attend.
