Havana Grand Prix 2016
You may have been watching live via www.ippon.tv, but if not – highlights of the 2016 Judo World Tour so far hit your TV screens courtesy of BTSport this Monday, kicking off with Havana.
It’s available via Virgin, BTSport subscriptions and presumably via Sky?

Our novice and low grade players are once again invited to a competition training day with Holbrook Judo Club, on Saturday 9 April – full details are attached.
This was a very successful day last year, with some great support from Court Lane players.
Hope some of you will take advantage of this opportunity.
Court Lane players are invited to train with British European and World Masters champion Sarah Hopkins & top coach, Hampshire squads manager & 6th Dan Derek Hopkins, on 27 February.
Many of our players have trained with Derek and Sarah before – most recently during the Royan twinning last year – and know it is always a good session.
The session will be held at Holbrook Judo Club, Brune Park School, Gosport, between 10 – 12 noon.
The mat fee is £5.00
A large turnout is expected, numbers are being limited to 60. Please confirm attendance to Holbrook coach Paul Vella via judocoachpv@aol.com

We hope to possibly be able to field a girl’s team by the end of the competition, possibly some heavier weight boys as well…

Previous Red Belt Rumble Medallists
Attached is the entry for the Northern Home Counties Red Belt Rumble in High Wycombe on 19 March.
These are a brilliant way of trying out competition in a very relaxed format.

I will announce team for Round 2 later on this week. I am still awaiting clarification if I can enter two players in one weight and alternate them between contnest.
If anyone else wishes to step forward – I have places in all boys weights 40kg+ and in ALL girls weights.

Must be 8-15 years, red, yellow or orange belt and hold a current BJA licence.

Anyone not in a team who wishes to be involved should send email to the above address and we will try to include you if possible but it will depend on how many people at what weight.This event will be restricted to Hampshire Licence holders only.
Teams will be allowed to play one Joker per match (of any age / non-competitive).
Cost: £35 for boys team, £25 for girls team or indivdual entry £5 per person.
We are keen to enter a team for this event which will run over three rounds – please let us know if you are interested! It is unlikely we can fill all weights, but there are several players who would benefit from this developmental opportunity.
