Hampshire Judo will be running a squad session this Sunday, 21 April.
The session will be held at Fleming Park Leisure Centre (Places for People) in Eastleigh.
The session will run from 1000-1200 and is open to all players.
This will be the final session prior to the Hampshire Closed and will be a great chance to get some extra practice. (Entry for the Hampshire Closed closes Sunday – get those entries in!).
Dan grades are free, there is a £5 mat fee for sho, mon and kyu grades.
There’s only one week left to enter the Hampshire Closed, so get those entries in.
Success at this event has been the launchpad for our players to achieve County, Area, National, and Commonwealth success!
Entry forms can be found on the Southern Area website.
As we return to training after the Easter break, please make sure your membership and licences are up to date.
Your licence is your insurance cover in case of injury, and is necessary to partake in gradings and competitions. It also gives you access to a range of other benefits.
Full details of British Judo membership and licensing can be found on the BJA website.
Massive congratulations to Matthew Burrow who gained the final points for his 1st Dan at a grading in Bath today.
Super proud to have helped you on the way to your black belt.
Just a reminder that classes restart this Tuesday.
Finish off those eggs, and we’ll see you on the mat!
Hajime!
Just a reminder, as we mentioned in a previous post – entry is now open to the 2024 Hampshire Closed.
A medal here may qualify you to represent Hampshire in the Southern Area interCounty tournament.
The Hampshire Closed has been the launchpad for many of our players who have gone on to great success.
Chloe’s hard work continues to pay off, with a bronze medal at the National School Championships. Chloe has been training hard at a number of clubs across the region, including Camberley.
Competing on Saturday in Sheffield, Chloe won 3 out of 4 fights to secure a well deserved bronze medal.
Last weekend saw our 2nd winner of 2024 on the Portsmouth Lottery!
With up to £25,000 to win each week and regular special prize bundles, playing the Portsmouth Lottery is a great way to support both the Club and the wider Portsmouth community – we get a donation from each ticket sold and monies are added to a community fund to support activities across the City.
If you haven’t signed up yet visit our page – https://www.portsmouthlottery.co.uk/support/court-lane-judo-club
Following her success at the recent Southern Area Schools regional qualifier, Chloe will be heading to Sheffield again this weekend to compete in the national Schools Championship.
The competition will be live streamed – details of how to watch are on the British Judo website.
As always, best of luck Chloe!
