Last Hampshire squad session of the year
Hampshire training session
The next junior squad session will be held at Eastleigh’s Fleming Park Leisure Centre on Sunday 27 November, from 15.30 – 17.30.
Squad manager Paul Vella comments, “This is the final Junior Hampshire training of 2016 and we look forward to Danny Murphy Snr putting our juniors through their paces, the session is open to all junior players, SEE YOU THERE !”
There is a £5.00 mat fee
Saturday training session
Players about to begin a newaza practice
Court Lane players are once again invited to attend a Saturday training session with Holbrook Judo Club, on Saturday 19 November.
This session will be led by Gemma Bavister, who achieved great success as a junior. Her sessions are renowned for great warm ups, great judo and thumping music – her Gangnam Style judo when Holbrook hosted Royan a few years ago, has become legendary…
The session runs from 10-12 noon at Holbrook Judo Club, Brune Park School, Military Road, Gosport.

A quick update on our programme for December:
- Thursday 1st December – NO Judo – School Christmas Carol service
- Tuesday 6th December – as normal
- Thursday 8th December – as normal
- Tuesday 13th December – NO ADULT session, junior sessions run as normal
- Thursday 15th December – as normal.
The Club will then be shut for the Christmas holidays, re-opening on Tuesday 3rd January

Hampshire Squad session this Sunday!
Squad training will take place again this weekend, it has been great to have Court Lane players at every session, would be great to see a few more this time! Sessions are open to all competitive juniors, aged 8 and over.
My fellow squad manager, Paul Vella, recently circulated this message about the squads:
Please note that the next county squad training session is to be held this coming Sunday 23 October 2016 15.30 – 17.30 with guest coach Petra Piears she was a junior once and I remember her as a young teenagerat Burridge JC many years ago, she did go on to win many British, European & World Masters titles. We would like to remind all County juniors that there is no county championships next year and therefore the county training sessions will be used to identify players for the 2017 SA intercounties championships.Full selection criteria will be publicised soon but you must be aware that werequire all clubs and coaches to promote these sessions amongst their players as we do have our hands tied here. The November training will be run by Danny Murphy also at Fleming Park (27/11/16)and then it is intended to move sessions to Osaka for January February & March 2017 subject to numbers attending.
No half term Judo
Please be aware that there will be no Judo during the October half term:
- Tuesday 25
- Thursday 27
This is due to a shortage of school staff to open and lock the premises.
Classes will recommence 1 November.
No adult session Tuesday 18 October
Please note, there will be no dedicated adult session on Tuesday 18 October. Any adults wishing to train should attend the 7 o’clock session, a split mat will be in operation.

Shopping online can trigger a donation to the club.
If you are an online shopper – whether it is your weekly grocery shop from Tesco or Sainsbury’s, books, CDs etc., from Amazon or clothes from Asos – using the Easyfundraising webfunding scheme can trigger a donation to the club.
Registration is easy via www.easyfundraising.org.uk… nominate the club as your preferred beneficiary and then access your web shop via the Easyfundraising portal whenever you shop. It doesn’t cost you a penny extra but triggers a significant donation to the club every time you shop.
Funds raised so far have helped us to keep mat fees down, hopefully we can generate enough to start putting towards mat replacement.
