Southern Area Closed

It’s been a long time since we have shared a competition result – so we are delighted to share the news of Ania Cardamas’ result at the Southern Area Closed on 16 November.

Ania, our newest club member, weighed in 32.9kg – just too heavy for the -32kg weigh category so had to fight up in -36kg. This weight category was then combined with -40kg due to low numbers, meaning Ania was giving away over 25% of her body weight in some of her contests.

Ania demonstrated the true judo value of courage and battled her way to a well deserved silver medal in the -36kg category.

We are extremely proud of her.

You can learn more about Judo Courage on the International Judo Federation’s YouTube channel.
