Lewis Dolman is guest coach at tomorrow’s Hampshire squad session.
Lewis started his judo career at Court Lane, progressing through the Hampshire Squad system to represent England.
As well as many domestic medals to his credit, Lewis represented England in the 2012 Commonwealth Judo Championships and is currently captain of Nottingham University’s Judo club.

There is still time to enter the Hampshire Split Grade competition on 31 July.
Competitors are split by grade and weight, with both junior and senior events running on the same day. For adults of 1st kyu and above, this is a points scoring event.

Fighting Films have announced a massive clearance of DVDs, from as little as £5.00 each for the famous 101 Ippons series. Other titles include coaching videos by legends of modern Judo such as Adams, Briggs, Koga, Inoue, Huizinga and Quellmalz, Olympic and World Championship competitions…

Craig returned to the competition mat on Sunday when he competed in this year’s Kent International.
Craig had trained hard in the build up to this competition, and gave a strong account of himself in his pool. Unfortunately on this occasion, it wasn’t quite enough, Craig losing out to the eventual gold and silver medallists.

Entry is now OPEN for the Hampshire Split Grade Open, to be held at Eastleigh’s Fleming Park Leisure Centre on 31 July.
The competition features both senior and junior categories, split by grade and weight. For those seeking points for their black belt, the 1st kyu and Dan grade section is point scoring.

Andy Read started his journey towards his black belt today when he attended his first Hampshire Dan grading.
He returned with a well earned 10 points.
It’s now a race between Kev, Craig and Andy as to who gets their black belt first!

The first Hampshire training session under the management of Paul Vella and Tony Brown was held last Friday, with guest coach Joph Spencer. Kieron Eagles and Craig Jones were also on the mat.
A number of Court Lane players were among the 35 present – Jonty, Jack, Sam and Jacob all played an active part in the session.
