With the Hampshire Open on 2 October, all players thinking of entering need as much mat time as possible. They are urged therefore to attend the randori session at Holbrook Judo Club on Saturday 10 September.
These sessions are usually split roughly 50:50 newaza and tachiwaza and offer a great way to gain extra practice with players who you don’t usually train with.

Help to celebrate an amazing Rio Olympics by taking part in the nation’s biggest ever sports day!
We will be joining with Holbrook Judo on 27 August for a mat session from 10 -12 noon.

As we have shared at the Club and via our Facebook group – players have the opportunity to train with our French compatriots at Judo Perrey Guerrier in Le Havre, over the weekend of 28/29/30 August.
It’s a great opportunity to make new friends and kickstart your preparation for the Hampshire Open.

Entry is now open for the Hampshire Open on 2 October, for both junior and senior players. It is point scoring for those chasing Dan grade points.
Please note that this competition is weight banded only – there is no age or grade banding in place.

Dean Smith and Craig McGeever represented the club at Sunday’s Split Grade competition.
Craig made his competition debut in the boy’s red and yellow belt competition at -30kg. He was narrowly defeated in his first fight, conceding a yuko in the final seconds. His second fight went in to two periods of golden score,

As with previous years, we will be running summer fitness training sessions every Tuesday evening during the summer break, commencing from 26 July.
Weather permitting, we will meet every Tuesday evening from 6.30 – 7.30pm at Hilsea Creek – full details of location etc. can be found here.
