Court Lane players are invited to join Holbrook players in a session presented by Derek and Sarah Hopkins on 29 September.
- Sarah – 6 x World & European Masters Champion
- Derek – 6th Dan & European Masters medallist
These are always great sessions, with a great mix of fun and technical elements.
The session will run at Holbrook Judo Club, Brune Parck School from 10.00 – 11.45.
It’s looking like a great Autumn term!
Just picked up the following message from the school,
I’m really sorry to do this but due to sickness we have no-one to cover the let this evening, we are therefore cancelling your Judo session today (Thursday 12 July).
Apologies for the short notice, don’t forget we are still there Tuesday 17th and 24th but no judo Thursday 19th.
Players about to begin a newaza practice
Tonight is the final Thursday session of this term!
We still have a couple of Tuesday evenings, and don’t forget this Saturday with Camberley at Holbrook.
A number of Camberley based players will be visiting Holbrook Judo Club this Saturday, Court Lane players are invited to join in with the training session.
The session will run from 10 – 11.45 at Holbrook’s training venue at Brune Park School, in Gosport, followed by a visit to the beach at nearby Stokes Bay.
In order to minimise the financial impact of the football World Cup and the continued hot weather on the club, and taking into account the minimum hire period allowed for the large hall, we have decided to combine all sessions from now until the end of term.
Sessions will run from 6-7.30pm on the following dates:
- Thursday 5th July
- Tuesday 10th July
- Thursday 12th July
- Tuesday 17th July
- NO SESSION Thursday 19th July – school show
- Tuesday 24th July – final session of term
Details of any summer training will be announced shortly.
Thank you to those who turned up last night – including a player who is currently on a residential placement – and the parents who brought them.
Sadly it wasn’t enough players to cover the hall hire costs, so we ended up £40 out of pocket last night.
Once again, if you know that you or your child will NOT be attending – please can you give us adequate notice so that we can
- Review numbers and make a decision as to whether to run that session or not
- Circulate decisions via email to subscribers, and on social media (Facebook and Twitter)
Thank you for your ongoing support.
Please note that due to the school’s summer show, there will be no judo on Thursday 19 July.
The final session of this term will be Tuesday 24 July.
Taking into account the ongoing hot weather (long may it last) and England’s progress in the World Cup (it won’t last), we have amended session times tomorrow.
There will be one combined session running from 6 – 7.30pm. Normal mat fee will apply.
This worked really well last Thursday, lets have another good session tomorrow!
Following consultation and feedback via social media, we have decided to amend our training programme for this Thursday , 28 June.
We will run ONE combined session, from 6.00 – 7.30pm.
Normal mat fees will apply.
Normal sessions will recommence from next week, we will review future sessions as required.
We have been advised that several players will be away this Thursday (29th).
As a result we have decided to combine the normal two sessions into one 90 minute session, running from 6pm to 7.30pm.
We will revert to normal after the Easter break
